Matchgrain ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled in the App.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information from users on our servers.

The App stores your data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData and may synchronize it across your devices using Apple iCloud, if enabled.

Data you create in the App includes camera, lens, and roll records, shot-level metadata (time, film stock, ISO/EI, and similar details), and — where you grant permission — location and photo data described below.

2. Location Data

If you grant permission, the App uses your device's location services to record where a roll or shot was taken, so that this information can be logged and embedded into your scanned negatives.

Location data is used only on your device to tag your entries and embed metadata into images. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your location data on any server. You can disable location access at any time in your device's Settings, and the App will continue to work without it.

3. Photos Access

If you grant permission, the App accesses your Photos library to let you select scanned negatives and to embed metadata (such as date, location, camera, lens, and film stock) directly into the image files.

Photo access and any resulting edits happen entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or gain access to your photos on any server.

4. Exporting Your Files

The App lets you export EXIF-embedded photos back to your Photos library, to the Files app / iCloud Drive, or to other apps and services via the system share sheet (e.g. AirDrop, Mail, Messages).

Exporting happens entirely on your device, using Apple's standard system pickers and share sheet. We do not have access to, or visibility into, where you choose to save or send your files. Once you export a file to another app, location, or service, its handling is governed by that app or service's own privacy practices, not by us.

5. Use of Data

All data you enter into the App (such as camera, roll, and shot records) is stored locally on your device, and optionally synchronized using Apple iCloud (depending on your iCloud settings).

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your personal, location, or photo data.

6. iCloud and Apple Services

If iCloud is enabled on your device and the App has iCloud permissions, your data may be synced across your Apple devices through Apple's secure infrastructure. This is handled entirely by Apple. We do not access or transmit your data to any external servers.

7. Analytics

The App may use Apple's built-in, privacy-preserving analytics (such as App Store Connect Analytics) to understand aggregate, anonymized usage of the App. This data is provided by Apple and is not personally identifiable to us.

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

8. In-App Purchases

The App offers an in-app purchase to unlock additional features. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, collect, or store your payment or billing information.

9. Third-Party Access

We do not share your data with any third parties.

10. Your Rights

Since the App does not collect or process personal data on external servers, there are no specific user rights to exercise through us. However, you maintain full control of your data via your device, the App's permission settings, and your Apple account settings.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in this document and updated in the App if applicable.
